I particularly like the van getting caught between railroad tracks and the fence it's straddling at the 2-minute mark.

Sideshow to the maximum there... great effort but shoddy escape plans.

Total chaos. But how did they block the road (the drifters) without innocent bystanders there?

I'm sure there were some innocent bystanders caught in the bunch, but they presumably got less arrested.

Haha I hope they all got reckless driving tickets and had their cars impounded.
Also they fail at escaping. Best escape plan is to park your car and leave the scene.

What a bunch of ruddy idiots. I bet they eventually got home bleeting about how unfair the world is to them and how the police are always on their back for no reason, etc...

Same thought. Find an alley or parking lot right away and walk home.
Sir_Stig: and toxic masculinity ruins the party again.

This describes pretty much everyone that complains about the world/life/police. If you don't do stupid shit, no one will go after you.

Exactly, unfortunately these sort of people don't grasp that.
Everyone wants to have some fun and live their life the way they want but there are rules and laws to stop it from harming others or adversely affecting others who are just as entitled as they are to live their life freely and peacefully.

Wha... Why... How did that car catch on fire?!
Also, epic move by the police. Bravo, ladies and gentlemen, and I hope the ticket revenue takes care of any extra costs the department incurred for this. Keep it off the streets, people! Maybe some of the cars will be/are seized and sale proceeds can go to educating kids to not be foolish and inconsiderate jerks that participate in such nonsense.

Alternately: Hold event at racetrack or on private property, not on public roads. Or, if law-breaking and public-endangerment is on the agenda, at least hold the event on a road with plenty of side streets and/or feeder roads to maximize entry/exit points. Even in movies like F&F they had that much foresight.

Anyone who was innocent should have stayed in their car(s) and been on the phone with the police dispatcher or 911 operator, giving a description of the problem and their own car car so there's a record, and left the car stationary when others were moving or pull over to the shoulder area and wait. Or, of instructed, block traffic and claim mechanical failure?

No idea about how it caught fire.
